About APSRTC

APSRTC was established in 1932 as NSR-RTD (Nizam State Rail & Road Transport Department), a wing of Nizam State Railway in the erstwhile Hyderabad State. The initial fleet of 27 buses has been expanded since to about 20000+ buses making it one of the world's largest public transport organizations by bus fleet.

Bus Services

APSRTC provides both intra city as well as long distance inter city bus services:

City Services: APSRTC operates Intra city bus services ("Ordinary", "Metro Express", "Metro Deluxe (Veera)" and Seethala Hamsa (A/C)" bus coaches) in many major cities of Andhra Pradesh like Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada. APSRTC has plans to introduce city busses in Guntur in near future.

Long Distance Service: APSRTC has an extensive network connecting almost every major town in Andhra Pradesh. It also operates buses between Hyderbabad and State capitals of Karnataka, Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Chattisgarh and Orissa. Various types of buses that are operated by APSRTC are "MEGHDOOTH", "SUPER LUXURY" (Formerly "HITECH"), "DELUXE" (Formerly "LUXURY"), "EXPRESS" etc. To improve passenger comfort, A/C VOLVO sleeper or semi sleeper services were introduced under the brand name "GAURDA" in 2004. "Palle Velugu" named buses for rural Andhra Pradesh and "SAPTHAGIRI" named buses between Tirumala and Tirupati are other brand names of APSRTC in their inter city bus services.

Bus ticket booking for APSRTC

There are multiple channels through which passengers can book bus tickets in APSRTC.

Credit card: Credit card is accepted for the advance reservation of tickets at MGBS/Hyderabad and JBS/Secunderabad. All Master/Visa Cards are accepted.There is no need to pay service charges by the Credit Card holders. This facility is also available in Bangalore, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam cities.
