About Jodhpur

About Rajsamand

Rajsamand is a small town in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The city was named after the artificial lake in 17th century called Rajsamand Lake. Rajsamand is a small town, but offers some good tourist locations to visit. One such is the Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary which is nestled amidst Aravali Range and is blessed with flora and fauna. One of the major attractions is the Ranakpur Jain Temples, which were built in 1439. Most popular temple is Chamukha Temple comprises of 29 halls and supported by 1444 pillars. Rajsamand Lake is yet another tourist location to visit which was built by Rana Raj Singh and is the most beautiful lake built. Haldi Ghat also known as Yellow Vale, is famous for the Haldighati battle fought in 1576. Moreover, the reason why the place is called Haldi Ghati is because the yellow color of the soil found here. Other places to explore are- Chetak Tomb and Arsi Vilas.
