About Kayamkulam

Kayamkulam is a small village in the state of Kerala. Just close to Alleppey and Quilon, Kayamkulam is connected to Kerala Backwaters. This village is known for temples and palaces that were built during ancient period and attract thousands of visitors every year. One such temple is dedicated to goddess Bhagavathy, which is known for huge traditional lamps which are lite up everyday. 18th century Krishnapuram Palace is also the option that should be visited. Another interesting location to visit is the Oachira Temple, which is the only temple in Kerala having no idol. People visit here to worship trees which are believed to be the place where lord shiva meditated. Other places to visit are-Kollam, Alappuzha and other few locations.
