About Ulhasnagar

Ulhasnagar falls in the Thane district of Maharashtra. It has the largest settlement of Sindhi people and has the number of small business manufacturing finest denims. The suburb is not so developed but is mostly blended with small scale industries and residential. During World War II, Ulhasnagar played the role of camp accommodating 6,000 soldiers and 30,000 others. However, later it became the commercial ideal ground for Sindhis who were the victim of partition. Ulhasnagar is well developed with having educational institutes and industries. Major Sindhi festival like Chetti Chand is celebrated with great pomp. Besides few parks and entertainment area, Ulhasnagar doesn’t have much tourist sites.
