About Srikakulam

Srikakulam is a municipality town in Andhra Pradesh. During Muslim rule, this town was called as Gulshanabad. The town is growing commercially and is the major religious place. One such is the Ayyappa Swamy Alayam Temple which is built on the banks of River Nagavali. The backside of the temple offers ‘Manikanta Ghat’. This temple celebrates different festivals like Dinam, Vishnu, Jyoti Darshanam and Brahmotsavams. Interesting places to visit in Srikakulam are: The Temple of Sun God in Arasavilli, Mukhalingam, Srikuram, Kalingapatnam, Sri Viswambhara Parampara, Palasa (famous for Cashew Nuts) and Mandasa.
